In this post, I will give you all the information about the climbing gym Bass Pro Shops in Denver, Colorado.
Believe it or not, there’s actually a small wall at this amazing fishing shop…although it didn’t seem like there was any climbing gear for sale. Kayaks, boats, ice fishing gear, bicycles, kids’ clothing, hiking boots, a couple shooting lanes to test out recurve/long/compound bows, a $0.50 for 25 shot laser rifle shooting gallery, low-tech camping gear, tons of stuffed mammals, tons of mounted fish (even 2lbs+ crappies in the Men’s Room) & live fish including bass, pike, rainbows, brown trout, golden trout, stripers, walleyes, blue cat, gar, and even sturgeon! Wouldn’t you like to hook into that catfish?
Money from the wishing well goes to Alpine Rescue Team.
Oddly, there is a demo “wall” for decoration with an autobelayer, hanging anchors, and even a manequin who is in a Misty Mountain Harness & La Sportiva Katanas…but appears to be tied in with something not-quite-like a figure 8. What knot is that?
The wall is completely littered with buckets on the main line, but there is a “natural line” which may go between 5.9 and 5.11 (best guess). It is only open 11-9 F, 10-8 S, 11-6 Su…as I recall. They require closed toe shoes. They have a Gri-gri hanging on the rope. The wall appears near 30-35′. No charge per Ryan (thanks for the info!).
Might be worth throwing in the shoes for a quick TR if you just happen to be in the store on a Fri, Sat, or Sun. Please post the natural line rating here if you do….
Also, a pricey seafood restaurant, Islamorado Fish Company, (with a big salt water tank & fish) adjacent to the store and an interesting looking restaurant called Wahoo’s (Ono) just NW of the store.
