Who we are
As one of 49 County Sports Partnerships across England, the Humber Sports Partnership is made up of a small core staff that support a range of agencies committed to providing high quality sporting opportunities across the Humber.
The partnership plays a vital role in developing sport for the whole community, assisting the development of coaches, officials, volunteers and the wider workforce.
A growing area of the partnerships work is in relation to community clubs, providing advice in areas which support club infrastructure, growth and sustainability. The partnership supports lifelong participation and is thus engaged with all ages groups ranging from work with School Sports partnerships through to back to sport initiatives which embrace participants well into their 70s.
On a strategic level the HSP works to identify local need and undertakes a strategic planning role to ensure optimum use of existing and potential resources, coordinating and aligning the delivery of sporting activities to avoid duplication.
The HSP core team is responsible for commissioning and funding activities (e.g. Sportivate) through its partners. The agencies making up a HSP include: Local Authorities, Voluntary sector groups, Primary Health Care Trusts, National Governing Bodies of Sport, Youth Sport Trust, Sport England, Higher and Further Education, professional sports providers.
