Olympics Volunteers
One in Seventy Thousand?
The London Olympic Games and Paralympic Games will offer a unique and vibrant experience for athletes and spectators; an experience in large part created by up to 70,000 volunteers from around the UK and across the world.Volunteers will come together to learn new skills, gain new experience and share the enjoyment of volunteering in a spectacular global event and you could be one of them.
Recruitment for Games-time volunteers won't start until 2010, but registering your interest is an optional step in the process which could result in you becoming involved.
Don't worry if you are not sure how much time you can volunteer in six years time - you are not committing yourself to anything just yet. We'll simply keep you informed of developments in London 2012's Volunteer Programme as they happen over the next few years, using our regular supporters newsletter and volunteer-specific messages.
It's important to remember that the recruitment and selection of volunteers for the 2012 Games will not be organised on a first come, first served basis. Instead, volunteers will be selected for a number of reasons including their individual skills and especially their volunteering experience.
So if you want to get involved in volunteering at the Games, why not start volunteering now in your community and boost your chances of selection whilst supporting an activity you are interested in?
