Rugby Union development in the Humber Region Will be covered in this section

Rugby Union

The framework for the development of Rugby Union in the Humber area has been developed by the Rugby Football Union (RFU), the Rugby Football Union for Women (RFUW), the Humber Sports Partnership and Sport England.

The age groups focussed upon are 10 year olds (Year 6) mixed rugby, 11-14 year old boys only (Years 7, 8 and 9) and 11-13 girls' only (Years 7 and 8).

The Rugby Union pathway starts with the opportunity to learn the game of Rugby through Tops RU, Mini RU and curriculum Rugby. Club coaching is the next step in the pathway (RFU continuum) with players being assessed at trials and then playing in development squads with the possibility of being selected for regional squads.

Rugby Union has a structured season and framework that delivers the best results for all participants, clubs, players, coaches, officials and volunteers involved in the game.
