 NLincs Club 2011

The North Lincolnshire Council Leisure and Culture Awards take place every year to recognize and reward the outstanding achievements volunteers have made. This year they took place on Thursday 10th March at Ancholme Leisure Centre in Brigg.

Cllr Christine O’Sullivan presented the sports award with these awarded to people and groups who have made contributions and/or major achievements in the sports, arts or community.

The event also featured the Street Sport initiative coordinated by North Lincolnshire Council.  These are a range of sport and play activities held on evenings at a range of community settings across the region.  A Promotional DVD was played at the event and Rhys Popplewell a street sport coordinator gave a short presentation about his experiences with the initiative and how street sport gave him a new focus on life which will enable him to begin a career as a sports coach.

Jack, a Water Ski Jumper, has won various awards and is also the 2nd best Jumper in the U14 category in Europe.
