Services2Sport Coaching Agency
This is an exciting new venture aimed at providing a sports coaching brokerage service that will co-ordinate and support the training and educational needs of sports coaches through developing coaching skills and creating cross-fertilization of coaches between sports. This will generate more opportunities for career development and employment as S2S will also act as a vehicle that brings together a number of employment, volunteer and placement opportunities from a wide range of providers in the area.
The aim of S2S is to up skill the coaching workforce and ensure through minimum standards of operating and quality assurance that all coaches are highly skilled and receive the appropriate financial rewards for the skills and training they have.
Employers will also benefit from these improvements in coaching standards knowing that any coach employed has achieved a Quality Mark which shows the coaches have at least the National Governing Body Level 2 qualification; hold the appropriate insurance; are enhanced CRB checked and have gained other qualifications such as child protection, first aid and equity.
A further element of the agency is to support coaches into self-employment and will, from 2008, incorporate a sector specific Sports Finance Initiative that will provide start-up and growth loan funding to coaches to enable them to become self-employed. It will lend to individuals that traditional banks will not and will also provide business support as well as access to bookkeeping, tax advice, marketing and other services to ensure the coaching business becomes established and grows with the minimum of risk. This sector specific finance initiative is the first of its kind in the UK.
S2S is a social enterprise under a limited company by guarantee with charitable aims, supported by a voluntary management committee currently made up of the Humber Sports Partnership, Sports Coach UK, National Governing Body representation, Hull Schools Sports Partnership, East Riding of Yorkshire Council, North East Lincolnshire Council, Hull City Council and North Lincolnshire Council.

Requirements:
- Qualified coaches – minimum level 2 or working towards
- Hold current enhanced CRB
- Child Protection and First Aid trained
- Able to deliver coaching across a range of ages including 8 – 12 year olds
- Own transport
- Local to the Humber area or willing to travel
