Step in to Sport 2008
Currently we have 20 students taking part in this project from local 6th forms. The students receive a nationally recognised certificate for their efforts, 50hrs=bronze / 100hrs=silver / 200hrs=gold. Also they are rewarded with uniforms and coach education scholarships.

“When I first started volunteering I was really nervous about it, as I don’t have very high confidence when speaking out loud to a group of people, but I thought I have to give it a try and the sense of achievement I got out of it was a real shock. The athletics festivals were really fun with the primary school children, it was strange being called “miss” but I’m getting used to it now!
From doing volunteering I have better time management skills and am more organised. I am continuing onto silver and hoping to achieve gold as soon as I can, I would recommend anyone to take part in volunteering as the benefits you get are unbelievable and as well as learning you are having fun at the same time
