Providing access to sport across the region

Safeguarding - A Child or Young Persons Guide

All children and young people have the right to have fun and be safe and free from harm when participating in sport and physical activity.

Children and young people should feel safe and have fun when taking part in sport. For a very few children their fun is spoilt by people who do or say things that hurt or frighten them.

What these children are experiencing may be abuse and they may feel have no one to talk to about this or that no one will listen to them or believe what they say.

If you are concerned about the behaviour of someone or how they treat you please talk to your coach, parent, an adult you can trust such as a  teacher.

If you are not comfortable doing this please ring someone else who will help
