Humber Safeguarding through Sport Group
This group has representation from the four local authorities across the Humber sub-region as well as:
- Yorkshire and Humber Regional Manager from English Gymnastics
- Serives 2 Sport Coaching Manager
- East Riding County FA Welfare Officer
The group are making links with the four local safeguarding childrens boards (LSCB's) and is also has strong links to the Child Protection in Sport Unit (CPSU) through their National Development Officer - Nick Slinn. In addition the Chair of the HSP Board - Geoff Ogden also fully supports the group. The terms of reference for the group are attached here.
The group have been developing the new Humber Safeguarding Policy and Implementation Plan. As part of the process key partners have also collected eveidence for the CPSU Standards for Safeguarding and Protecting Children in Sport.
The new Policy called "The Power of Sport in Safeguarding Children and Young People" was approved at the HSP Executive Board on 26th July. It will now be submitted as part of the evidence portfolio for the Intermediate Safeguarding Standards to CPSU.
