‘TennGolf’ - Converting a tennis court into a golfing sport!
The idea is simple, using synthetic golf surfaces we turn an existing tennis court into a golfing teaching and practice facility. The aim was to break down the perception that golf was elitist and just for the affluent, with the hope that more people will get involved in the game.
It’s designed with everyone in mind, from the novice golfer to the Master Professional. Learn golf on it, practice your existing game on it or simply excel at it.
Please take a minute to look at the link below and find out more information from the world’s first facility at Nuffield Health Wellbeing and Fitness Centre recently installed in Hull. This video footage was filmed by a local firm who’s details appear beside the film clip. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZpbGEyxEAFo

More than 20 deaf children took part in the first ever Scunthorpe Deaf Friendly Football Festival.
Held at Scunthorpe United's Glanford Park stadium yesterday, the festival was organised by the club, in conjunction with the National Deaf Children's Society (NDCS).
As reported, the festival marks the launch of a two-year partnership between United and the NDCS to help more kids with hearing difficulties get involved in playing football.
NDCS football development officer Rob Danson said: "It was fantastic. "We had 23 children turn up, the coaching has been fantastic, the kids have all enjoyed themselves and it has been a great day with the weather as well. "We are hoping to get something more regular for the kids so they can play football on a regular basis."
United are among 45 clubs to join the Deaf Friendly Football Club project so far, with the list including giants such as Manchester United and Arsenal.
As part of the project, the Iron coaches were trained to communicate with deaf children, while the club's disabilities and equality officer, Sarah Teal, also completed a level one course in British Sign Language.
Among those taking part was Mark Jackson, 13, of Foxhills Road, Scunthorpe. His mother, Susan Bontoft, 43, said: "He is a big football fan so he loved joining in with some Scunthorpe United coaches and getting to meet some of the team as well."

Ex- Scunthorpe girl wins medal in the Deaf Olympics
16 year-old Hannah Fitton has given the GB camp a huge lift by landing the first medal of the Taipei Games.
Hannah qualified in fifth place for the final and Swimming Manager Vincent Dickson thought she might have an outside chance. She did better than Dickson hoped, holding off the challenge of two Russians to win the bronze by 0.91 seconds. Dickson was elated: "Not only did Hannah grab the bronze, she knocked a whole four seconds off her personal best. What a fantastic performance - I'm so proud."
Hannah, who was born in Scunthorpe but is now of Wisconsin, was only called up to the squad when her father emailed coach Dickson his daughter's PB (personal best) times on the off chance.
08/09/09: A BRACE FOR FITTON!
Team GB's first medal winner of these Games, Swimmer Hannah Fitton, Scunthorpe-born girl who got bronze for the 400m Freestyle won another bronze today for the 200m individual medley event.
Only 16, Fitton has done herself and her country proud!
Congratulations to her!
Hannah scoops her third bronze medal
There was great news for Team GB this evening when 16 year-old Hannah Fitton (ex-Scunthorpe girl) scooped her third bronze medal of the Games.
Hannah surged through the field in the 200m Freestyle event to land third place and add another medal to the two she won for GB earlier this week.
Hannah's bronze collection is now 200m Freestyle, 400m Freestyle and 200m Individual Medley but her third success needed a slice of luck.
Team GB Swimming Manager Vincent Dickson explained:
“Hannah made a mistake in her morning heat, which meant she was only able to finish ninth in the list of qualifiers.
“However, a withdrawal meant that she moved up into eighth place and in the race itself she came in from absolutely nowhere to grab the bronze.”
“In doing that, she broke the British record by three seconds!”

GB TENNIS GURANTEED FOR MEDAL
Under the hazy climate both Anthony Sinclair (Northern Ireland) and Catherine Graham (Scunthorpe) comfortably secured their place in the Mixed Double Finals.
They beat the Japanese in the Semi Finals. Sinclair explained his joy, "We've been paired for the Mixed Doubles in the last two Deaflympics but this time we are in the Finals - We do not want to contemplate for the Gold as it is our main target and we will now work harder to communicate with each other to avoid the errors and improve for the Final."
12/09/09: GRAHAM AND SINCLAIR STRIKE GOLD!
Anthony Sinclair (Northern Ireland) and Catherine Graham (Scunthorpe) won their tennis mixed doubles final this afternoon to win GB's first Gold of the Games.
Playing in blistering heat, the pair came through in three sets, 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 beating the favourite Italians Gianpaolo Damiani and Barbara Oddone who have held the title for five consecutive Deaflympics.
Sinclair and Graham have doubled up before in both Rome and Melbourne but finished 4th both times and were understandably delighted with their success this afternoon. They both exclaimed how they appreciated the support from the rallying supporters including Sinclair's two travelling companions.
