20 September 2011

Special Olympics is a sports charity for people with learning disabilities which provides year round training and competition in 24 different Olympic type sports for athletes of all ages and sporting abilities. City of Hull offers training in gymnastics and swimming.

Gymnastics
Training takes place at Sutton Village Gym, Hull on Mondays from 7.00 p.m.

The Group has taken part in regional Competitions and events.  They have given displays to celebrate “Ability Week” in the Princess Quay in Hull and also performed at a local primary school.

The Yorkshire & Humberside Regional competitions have recently taken place in Hull with Special Olympics clubs from other regions invited to take part. This has proved to be an enjoyable event with a disco ably manned by club members for competitors and friends the evening before the serious business of competition.
