HELP US MAKE 2008 A TRULY OLYMPIC YEAR
The young sports people we help have proven talent and huge potential. With no other funding to turn to, SportsAid can help and you can too.
Sponsor an Athlete Award – you or your organisation can directly associate with the champions of the future through our work. Money can be ring fenced for a particular sport or geographic area. For more information download the Named Awards Leaflet or contact Robert Clarke – robert@yorks-sportsaid.demon.co.uk
Corporate Partnerships – if you think your organisation shares the same values and passion in sport, why not get in touch to see how we can work together.
Specific projects can be discussed and we can look to help you support emerging talent through a one off donation. Or if you are looking to commit to helping emerging talent on a longer term, we can develop a strong partnership through a multiple year deal.
Attend our Events – we have several events taking place throughout the year including Sunday lunches and cricket lunches, our annual swimming gala, our Tribute to Sport Dinner and opportunities to take part in the London Marathon.
Make a Small Annual Donation – become part of our Patrons Scheme by donating only £35 per year which works out at less than 10pence a day! Please download our Patrons Scheme Leaflet
Volunteer – want to get your staff involved in volunteering or looking to expand your own experience? SportsAid can offer some great opportunities.
Fundraising – get your hands on one of our fundraising packs, get inspired and help our future sporting champions!
Patrons Scheme
The Patrons Scheme is an easy way for you to get involved in supporting the region’s top sporting talent. By donating an annual membership fee,
you can help us provide grants to the most talented and deserving athletes in Yorkshire & Humberside. These grants help them to cope with the costs
that come with competing and training at a high level such as travelling, training and equipment costs. Not only does our work help to ease financial
pressure but a SportsAid grant gives athletes invaluable recognition of their potential, encouraging them to keep achieving their goals.
SportsAid, the Charity for Sport, is the only major organisation to work with sports governing bodies to identify the most talented athletes, in approximately 47 sports including disability sports, at a time when they are not eligible to receive funding from other sources such as the Lottery.
As a registered charity, SportsAid does not distribute lottery money and is not funded by Government. Every grant we give out uses money raised from our supporters.
You can make a difference to the work we do and the future of British sport by joining our Patrons Scheme. There are three ways to become a member:

The Named Awards Scheme
The Named Awards Scheme is a chance for your business/ organisation to invest in emerging sporting talent in the region.
By working with the people that know young emerging talent better than anyone, the sports governing bodies, we have the experience, proven process and ability to support the right youngsters at the right time. This allows us to work with donors to ring fence money and give out awards in their name – promoting your involvement through direct association with our grants.
It may be that you want to support athletes in a specific geographical area or in a particular sport – SportsAid can help you do this.
By building a good partnership with your organisation we can work with you to meet your needs and promote your involvement with SportsAid.
Specific projects can be discussed and we can look to help you support emerging talent through a one off donation.
Or if you are looking to commit to helping emerging talent on a longer term, we can develop a strong partnership through a multiple year agreement.
