East Riding Awards
Sports stars and dedicated coaches from across the East Riding have been honoured in an awards ceremony.
The Sports and Play Recognition Awards took place on Friday March 7th at Beverley Leisure Complex.
The awards were judged by the chairman of East Riding of Yorkshire Council, Councillor Barbara Jefferson, who also presented them.
Cllr Jefferson said: “It was wonderful to be able to congratulate so many hard working performers and dedicated coaches at the awards ceremony.
“The judging process was incredibly difficult as the quality of the nominations was so high.
“Everyone was nominated thoroughly deserved to be recognised for their contribution to sport in the East Riding.”
Sarah Johnson, community recreation officer for the council, said: “These awards are all about recognising people for hitting high standards and, more importantly, about putting in hard work, often without reward or thanks.
“I’d like to thank everyone who sent in their nominations and everyone who took part in making the awards ceremony a great event.”
