Providing access to sport across the region

Our Development

The Humber Sports Partnership has changed.

Created in 1998, the Humber Sports Partnership was focused on the delivery of the former 'Active Sports Programe'.  In 2002, the Government published "Game Plan" which challenged sport to develop a more effective and integrated delivery system, giving greater Regional autonomy and identifying a clear role for County Sports Partnerships, linked to the delivery of the 'Framework for Sport in England'.  A new County Sports Partnership model was created and Sport England tasked with the development and implementation of the 'Single System/delivery system for Sport' in England.

In response to the developing role for the Humber Sports Partnership within the delivery system for sport, a review of current governance arrangements is taking place, involving consultation with all key partners, local authorities, NGBs, SAUK, SCUK, YST etc.

The result of this review is the model for the Humber Sports Partnership (See diagram).  It is believed that this model will enable the HSP to be responsive to the growing role for the HSP, be proactive in implementing the Business Plan and Strategy whilst being accountable to and with partners for its actions.

This model enables HSP to maximise its potential and provide strategic leadership for the development of sport across the Humber sub-region.
