Running Sports course ‘Valuing your Sports’  Course

The Humber Sports Partnership, have been commissioned by Hull CVS Volunteer Centre to deliver  the Running Sports course ‘Valuing your Sports’ Volunteers’ which is aimed at voluntary sport club representatives who manage volunteers across Hull and East Riding. The course aims to help sport clubs recruit more volunteers, motivate, retain, reward, and manage them more effectively.

The course is taking place at the Age Concern Healthy Living Centre, Porter Street, Hull, HU1 2RH on Thursday 18th March 2010 from 6.00pm to 9.00pm. The course is funded by the Capacitybuilders Volunteer Management Programme through the Humber Effective Volunteers Management Programme being managed in Hull by Hull CVS Volunteer Centre.

By attending this workshop you will be able to develop an understanding of the importance of volunteers in England Sport, identify what you can do as a sports club / organisation to prepare yourselves for receiving new volunteers, and the types of roles they can undertake. Finally, the course aims to help build support mechanisms and links and gain a commitment for ongoing volunteer development. All attendees will also receive an accredited Running Sports certificate.

All clubs that attend the event will be able to access support from both Hull CVS Volunteer Centre and the Humber Sports Partnership following the event which will include support in recruiting volunteers and advertising volunteering opportunities. You will also be supported to take part in national sport volunteering initiatives including Step into Sport and Recruit into Coaching.

Places are limited and to book a place on this course please contact Richard Munson from the Humber Sports Partnership on 01482 387491 or by emailing rmunson@goodwin-centre.org. Information on the event is also available by contacting Tom Grealy Volunteer Centre Manager at Hull CVS on 01482 324474 or email tgrealy@hull-cvs.co.uk.
